How to play K-pop Connections

The board shows 16 K-pop group names. They split into 4 categories of 4, and each name belongs to exactly one category. Pick 4 names that share something and submit them. If you're right, the category leaves the board and its label is revealed.

You can make 4 mistakes. When 3 of your 4 picks belong to the same category, the game tells you you're one away. Shuffle moves the names around, which can help you spot a different grouping. Yellow marks the easiest category and purple the hardest. At the end, the shareable result shows how many categories you solved and how many mistakes you made, without giving the categories away.

Where the K-pop Connections data comes from

Categories group the names by record label or agency, by formation decade or by member count. The generator only publishes boards whose split into 4 groups of 4 is unique. The difficulty order comes from how many outside names could be confused with each category.

The facts come from Wikipedia and Wikidata, read by a program that stores the revision of every page and the origin of every claim. The database is refreshed every day at 15:00 UTC, noon in São Paulo, and the next board goes live only after its format check passes.

K-pop Connections FAQ

Why does a name seem to fit two groups?

A name can fit more than one category, but only one split completes all four groups. If two splits work, the board is thrown out.

Does everyone get the same board?

Yes. The board changes at midnight São Paulo time (03:00 UTC) and is the same for every player that day, so shared results can be compared.

Is it free?

Yes. Every game on K-pop Quiz is free and runs in the browser on a phone or a computer. There is nothing to install.
