10 guesses · 4 positions

How to play
  1. The daily code is a sequence of 4 distinct groups chosen from the board's 6 symbols. Pick a group for each position and submit your guess.
  2. You have 10 guesses. After each one, the game shows how many groups are in the exact position and how many belong to the code but sit elsewhere. The counts do not tell you which positions you got right.
  3. Click or tap a position's option to change its group. With a keyboard, use the arrow keys. The final result reveals the code and the source of each group.

How to play the K-pop Group Code

The daily code is a sequence of 4 distinct groups chosen from the board's 6 symbols. Pick a group for each of the 4 positions and submit your guess. You get 10 attempts.

After each attempt, the game shows two numbers: how many groups are in the exact position and how many belong to the code but sit in another one. The numbers are aggregates and never say which positions you got right, so an attempt with 2 exact does not tell you which two. At the end, the result reveals the sequence and lists each group's classification on Wikidata, with the revision consulted.

If the day's code is not published, the page says so and offers a retry, because the daily publish can go out without this file without blocking the other games.

Where the K-pop Group Code data comes from

The six symbols come from the accepted group catalog, each with a music type classification recorded on Wikidata, pointing at the consulted revision. The generator draws the symbols and the secret sequence from a date-derived seed, so the same day and the same catalog always produce the same code, and everyone plays the same sequence.

The sequence is a logic challenge, not a fact: the game claims no relationship between the groups that form the code. Each answer links to the Wikidata item that classifies the group. Wikidata's license is CC0.

K-pop Group Code FAQ

Why don't the numbers show which positions I got right?

Because that is all the information the game gives: a guess returns only how many groups are exact and how many are misplaced. Knowing which positions are right would be a different game; finding that out in few attempts is the challenge.

Does everyone get the same code?

Yes. The sequence changes at midnight São Paulo time and is the same for every player that day, so shared results can be compared. If the day's file is not generated, the page says so and the code stays unavailable until the next day.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login. Your streak and stats are saved in your browser. To move them to another device, use export and import in the stats window.
